Toyota Canada Creates Tailgating Tundra Truck
Trucks are the perfect vehicles for tailgating parties, and with football season fast approaching, sports fans are likely to start getting their grill on. But lugging your grill onto your tailgate and transporting it to the party location is a real drag—surely there is a better way.
Well, Toyota Canada has the solution to your first-world problem in the form of two Tundra trucks with barbecues installed in their beds. Nice move, Canada.
The trucks were developed jointly by Toyota Canada and Napoleon—a grill, fireplace, and HVAC manufacturing company in the land of maple syrup—and will be making appearances at various events on the country’s east and west regions. August events included Kamloops (BC) Ribfest; the Trans Can Grand National Championships in Walton, Ontario; and Stony Plain, Alberta’s Wild Outdoor Expo.
In the coming months, the tailgating trucks will trundle between events such as Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show in Woodstock, Ontario; Home Hardware Fall Market in St. Jacobs, Ontario; and Mane Event Expo in Chilliwack, British Columbia.
“The Toyota Tundra is known for being up to the task for anything Canadians throw at it, and it has certainly proven to be ideal for this special tailgating vehicle,” explained Stephen Beatty, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. The vehicles’ 8.1-foot beds each feature a prep area, grill, and condiment table, meaning that nothing else is needed for these events besides the trucks.
Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time Toyota has built a tailgating Tundra. Last year’s SEMA show featured such a truck, designed by celebrity chef Tim Love and Divine 1 Customs.
