Toyota and Cincinnati Children’s are continuing their long-standing partnership and joining with Children’s Health of North Texas to launch the Buckle Up for Life national education program. The six-week program will educate parents and caregivers in the North Texas region as to the importance of proper usage of car seats, seat belts, and booster seats.

To make the program accessible to anyone wishing to participate, specialists will offer instruction and advice in both English and Spanish.

Buckle Up for Life is a great example of how Toyota partners with others to help solve problems in our communities,” said Mike Goss, General Manager, Social Innovation, Toyota Motor North America. “One of our deepest priorities is helping people get to their destinations safely. We know Buckle Up for Life helps protect kids and we are excited to share it with families in our new hometown of Plano and in North Texas.”

The Buckle Up for Life program has been held in 16 different cities across the United States, reaching more than 30,000 people across markets including New York, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

The program will also offer free car seats or booster seats to attendees who are economically disadvantaged. In its sponsorship of the Buckle Up for Life program, Toyota has provided more than 40,000 car seats to families in need.

The Buckle Up for Life program was originated by Toyota and Cincinnati Children’s in 2004 and has led to a market improvement in proper car seat usage among those who participate. More information on the program and its history is available at www.buckleupforlife.org.
