The eighth Toyota Dream Car Art Contest recently came to a close with an awards ceremony held at Mega Web—Toyota’s vehicle experience facility in Tokyo’s Kyoto Ward. In total, the contest received 662,898 entries from 75 countries and regions.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest allows children across the globe to develop an interest in both cars and art by designing vehicles in varying shapes and sizes. The contest also aims to instill the importance of having a dream, and in following your dreams—a lesson that Toyota hopes children from around the world will learn.

Toyota Dream Car Art Contest: STORYOTA

The contest split entries into three age group categories (seven and under, eight to 11, and 12 to 15). For each age group, Toyota awarded one Gold, two Silver, three Bronze, and four Best Finalist prizes. Additionally, one lucky winner received the special President Toyoda Award. In total, 31 award winners and their families attended the awards ceremony, representing 22 countries and regions. The winners of the Gold awards were Vietnamese Thanh Mai Bui, age six, for “Super Crab Car;” Thailand’s Jirawat Yodsing, age 10, for “Wat Pho Massage Car;” and Romanian Iasmina-Maria Raceanu, age 16 (15 at the time of submission), for “STORYOTA.” Additionally, the President Toyoda award went to five-year-old Mealaksey Pha from Cambodia for “Smart Fish Car.”
