Toyota Family Learning Grants

Toyota helps bring families closer

The family that learns together stays together. Toyota recognizes the importance of parents’ involvement in their children’s learning, which is why the automaker recently announced a second round of Toyota Family Learning grants, provided in collaboration with the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL). Communities across the country are welcome to submit applications for the three-year, $175,000 grants designed to increase opportunities for families to engage and learn together.

During the first round of the Toyota Family Learning grants, Toyota and the NCFL saw an increase in families working together to serve their communities; as well as an increase in father involvement, gains in parents’ leadership skills, and an increase in involvement between families and their children’s schools. During the first round, grants were awarded to communities in California, New York, and Rhode Island, as well as the Houston Public Library and Lincoln Public Schools.

In addition, the Family Time Machine website, designed by Toyota and NCFL, helps families learn how to schedule their weeks to make the most of opportunities available to them.

Mike Goss, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America’s vice president of external affairs, commented, “Toyota’s more than 20 years of partnership with the NCFL has taught us that bringing parents and children together to learn works. That’s why we are so excited to announce the second round of the Toyota Family Learning Grants and proud to support programs across the country that extend learning beyond the four walls of the classroom and into homes and communities.”
