Toyota to stop producing the popular rugged FJ Cruiser.

Toyota has just announced that the beloved Toyota FJ Cruiser will be discontinued. At the end of the 2014 model year, Toyota customers will be saying goodbye to off-roader, which has been one of Toyota’s main all-terrain vehicles. This narrows the field of vehicles actually capable of going off-road. The FJ Cruiser was first introduced to the world in 2006 with the 2007 model, but really hasn’t changed since its launch with the exception of a few year-to-year updates.

Based off of the FJ40 Land Cruiser, which was produced by Toyota from the 1960s to 1984, the FJ Cruiser has a funky bit of flair typically associated with the progressive 60s, 70s, and 80s. It boasts a 4.0-liter V6 engine that helps with any off-road excursions you might take. It is considered Toyota’s response to the Jeep Wrangler and is possibly more capable than its rival. The interior is mostly fitted with hard plastic and cloth seats that allow owners to easily clean up after if they happen to get dirty.
