The Toyota LC 200

Toyota is having a busy week at SEMA, showing off numerous modified vehicles like the Tundrasine, Tonka 4Runner, Sienna R-Tuned Concept, Ultimate Utility Vehicle, and multiple TRD models. But there’s one vehicle that’s typically not seen on American shores currently making waves in Sin City—the LC 200.

The LC 200 is the Australian version of the Land Cruiser. This particular LC 200 is being used as the torch bearer in Toyota’s ongoing Ever-Better Expedition—a journey that spans five continents and allows Toyota engineers, designers, and other employees to use their real-life experiences to improve upon Toyota’s lineup. The expedition is currently in the middle of its North American leg, and was able to make a stop in Vegas for SEMA.

The LC 200 is powered by a 4.5-liter twin-turbo diesel engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. It includes numerous touches that would make it at home in the outback, including a snorkel air intake, a dual vertical hinged tailgate (barn-door style), and 17-inch steel wheels. Inside, the LC 200 is equipped with a simple AM/FM radio with MP3-compatible single-disc in-dash CD player and Bluetooth connectivity.

The LC 200 is also equipped with features like multi-terrain anti-lock brakes, stability control, active traction control, CRAWL control with off-road turn assist, and hill-start assist control.

The troupe of vehicles will travel 16,000 miles across North America in total, from cityscapes like Manhattan and the frozen tundra of Alaska, to the searing heat of Death Valley and the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains.
