Toyota Named ‘Most Admired’ Automaker in Fortune Study
Fortune Magazine recently released its annual list of the “World’s Most Admired Companies.” Given that Toyota is the world’s largest automaker with a lineup of incredibly popular vehicles here in the United States—Camry, Corolla, Prius, Highlander, RAV4, and more—and in markets across the globe, it’s no surprise that the Japanese motor vehicle company was the top ranked automaker in the study.

Overall, Toyota landed on the 28th spot on the list. Only 50 companies in total earned a sacred spot.
When ranking companies for the “World’s Most Admired Companies” list, Fortune examines nine attributes that are said to measure success globally. Among those attributes are people management, social responsibility, quality of management, and global competiveness. The information is gathered via company surveys and peer ratings from execs, directors, and others at the company.
“Toyota is honored to once again be recognized as a most admired company,” said Jim Lentz, Toyota Motor North America chief executive officer. “All of our team members and partners worldwide contribute to enhancing Toyota’s reputation by creating the future of mobility and contributing to a better society through safer, greener, and more fun driving experiences. This recognition is a reflection of their dedication to continuous improvement and exceeding customers’ expectations.”
