Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid Offers Free Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi™ in LA and NY Parks

What’s better than available Wi-Fi in public spaces? How about free Wi-Fi in public spaces? Sounds like a dream, right? Well, thanks to Toyota and its Prius Plug-In Hybrid, six Los Angeles parks and beaches now offer free Wi-Fi, known as Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi™. This is made possible by a public-private partnership between the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, Toyota, and American Park Network. This marks the first time ever that Wi-Fi has been installed in LA’s city parks, and Toyota hopes that this first step will pave the way for free Wi-Fi across the entire city.

LA isn’t the first location to benefit from Toyota’s generosity. The state of New York offers free Wi-Fi via Toyota in four prime tourist areas: Niagara Falls, Jones Beach, Saratoga Spa, and East River State Parks. Additionally, Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi™ is available at New Jersey’s Liberty State Park. In LA, the six areas chosen to receive free Wi-Fi are among the most-visited parks the city has to offer: the Griffith Observatory, Venice Beach, Pershing Square, Cabrillo Beach, Echo Park Lake, and Reseda Park.

Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A.’s National Director of Traditional and Digital Media, Dionne Colvin-Lovely, commented, “We’re thrilled to partner with American Park Network and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks to help make Oh, Ranger! Wi-Fi™ a reality for the visitors who attend these six tremendously popular parks here in Los Angeles. Supporting the needs of parks and their visitors is a perfect fit for the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid, we particularly welcome the opportunity to make a difference, here, in our own backyard, by improving the park going experience for Angelenos throughout the city.”
