The 2016 Camry was a sales superstar for Toyota in September

As one of the world’s largest automakers, industry experts watch closely when Toyota reveals its sales figures each month. For September, the automaker’s sales rose 11.5% on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis when compared with September 2014. Of that, Toyota Division’s sales increased a whopping 16.3% on a volume basis, and 11.6% on a DSR basis.

September’s sales figures mean that Toyota was able to keep its title of best-selling retail brand in the third quarter of 2015. On top of that, Toyota Certified Used Vehicles saw their best-ever third quarter. Toyota’s top sellers included the Corolla (up 29.7%), the Camry (up 21%), the Prius (up 12.4%), and Toyota lights trucks (up 13.2%).

“Auto industry sales continue to accelerate at a strong pace,” explained Bill Fay, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager. “Toyota Division sales were up over 16 percent in September, led by best-ever sales of RAV4 and Highlander.”

Additionally, the new Scion iA and iM posted sales of 3,388 total units since going on sale September 1st.
