As a leading automotive brand across the globe, Toyota is dedicated to providing sponsorship to multiple causes, such as the recent 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. Now, the automaker is extending its sponsorship to the Paralympics by becoming a Worldwide Paralympic Partner Sponsor through 2024.

Toyota’s sponsorship will include the Tokyo Paralympic Games, which will take place in the summer of 2020. As a Worldwide Paralympic Partner Sponsor, Toyota will provide vehicles, mobility services, and mobility support robots during the games. Additionally, the automaker will be involved in the activities of all National Paralympic Committees worldwide between 2017 and 2024.

“We at Toyota share the IPC’s commitment to help create a society where we all have access to the same opportunities,” commented Toyota president Akio Toyoda. “Sir Philip has noted the importance of mobility in promoting social participation for people with an impairment. We don’t want mobility be an obstacle, but rather an opportunity for people to achieve their dreams. At the most difficult times, sports can offer hope and purpose and inspire us all to never give up. And sport has the power to unify us all. Through the Paralympic Games, we want to make the power of mobility and the power of sport available to all.”

Toyota’s Paralympic sponsorship goes alongside its top-tier sponsorship of the Olympic Games from 2017 to 2024, ensuring that the automaker will be front and center during the summer games taking place in Japan’s capital in a little under five years.
