Toyota is no stranger to giving back. Over the years, the Japanese automaker has lent its support to numerous charitable organizations in order to help make the world a better place. One example is Toyota’s long-standing relationship with the National Urban League—the largest historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization in the US. In fact, 2015 will be the 21st year that Toyota has sponsored the organization’s annual conference.

The conference, which began yesterday (July 29th) and runs until August 1st, is being held at the Broward Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Toyota will have a booth, which will feature the Toyota TeenDrive365 Distracted Driving simulator to help attendees learn the dangers of driving while texting or performing other distracting tasks. Additionally, the booth will offer car seat demonstrations via its Buckle Up for Life initiative to teach conference-goers the correct way to install and utilize child car safety seats. Finally, Toyota will demonstrate to attendees some ways that they can live greener lifestyles, from using homemade cleaning and hygiene products to driving more eco-friendly vehicles.

“For the last two decades, Toyota has been a proud sponsor and a loyal partner to the National Urban League.  We believe in their mission,” explained Jim Colon, vice president, African American Business Strategy, Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc. “Being part of the conference provides us with a great opportunity to connect with consumers and establish partnerships with the African-American and Hispanic communities we serve.”
