The Toyota STEAM program will help prepare students for their careers

As one of the world’s largest automakers, Toyota is dedicated to educating the next generation so that they might find steady employment in the manufacturing industry. As part of this dedication, the automaker invites educators from schools across the country to participate in the Toyota Education Initiatives in STEAM Innovation program (also known as the Toyota STEAM program). The program teaches secondary educators to educate and inspire their students to pursue careers in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields.

This year, teachers and administrators from Ann Arbor Public Schools in Michigan will be among the lucky attendees traveling to Singapore for the Toyota STEAM program. This is the second year that staff members from this school system have been invited to take part in the program. Toyota has offered the program for the past 15 years, sending school educators and administrators on 19 international short-study programs in locations such as Costa Rica, South Africa, Japan, and the Galapagos Islands.

During this year’s Toyota STEAM program, attendees will learn how to develop detailed education plans for STEAM lessons and projects, with the goal of preparing students for careers in this growing field.
