Toyota Teases New Headquarters in Video
A little over a year ago, Toyota announced that it would be packing up its things and moving from its long-standing US headquarters in Torrance, California, to a new location in Plano, Texas. This highly-anticipated move is in progress, and is expected to be complete by the first quarter of 2017. While that might still be a couple of years away, the automaker just released a teaser video to show people what to expect from its new home.
The video is short at 19 seconds, but it lays out the plans for the building that will bring thousands of jobs to the area and relocate current employees from plants in California, Kentucky, and New York. Work has already begun at the 100-acre site, but we’re still pretty far away from envisioning what the finished product will look like. This video gives us an idea—a large yet airy building with huge glass windows, which will allow workers to glimpse the greenery and impeccable landscaping just outside. Watching this from our office, which has little to no windows and makes us wonder if the outside world actually exists, we’re more than a tad envious.
Toyota will reveal a large rendering today at a press event, and we’ll be waiting patiently to see what the automaker has in store for its next American home.
