The next-generation Prius will be on display at NAIAS

2015 was a remarkable year for Toyota, with the automaker retaining its title as best-selling retail brand, as well as producing more vehicles in North America than in any other year. Toyota also released its first ever production hydrogen-powered vehicle—the Mirai—and released the redesigned Tacoma and Avalon in 2015. So it’s no surprise to hear that the automaker will be concentrating on a different field—specifically connected vehicle technology—at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) next week.

From January 16th-24th, Toyota will show off the connected vehicle technology it’s been working on, alongside the full line of vehicles currently available. Most notably, the new fourth-generation Toyota Prius will make an appearance ahead of its release, which should be coming up fairly soon. The new Prius has been completely redesigned, and boasts sportier styling and better efficiency among other things.

Other vehicles that will be on display include the KIKAI, i-ROAD, the Back to the Future version of the Tacoma, and Kyle Busch’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship number 18 race car.

Toyota will also have the TeenDrive365 distracted driving simulator on display, allowing teens and parents to experience first-hand how easily it can be to drive distracted, and how dire the consequences can be.
