2019 Toyota Tundra SX Package

Following the construction of its new headquarters in Plano, Texas has recently become Toyota’s new home state, and the company is looking to make its presence felt.

At the State Fair of Texas, Toyota announced three new options for its 2019 models: the 4Runner Nightshade Special Edition and SX Packages for the Tacoma and Tundra pickup trucks.

The 4Runner Nightshade Special Edition is no doubt the highlight of the new models. It boasts striking black accents all throughout the exterior, from the front and rear bumper spoilers to the mirrors, door handles, roof rails, and rocker panels.

It also features a healthy amount of black chrome, and as though you just couldn’t get enough of the color, the 20-inch wheels are black as well. Inside, it’s a lot of the same theme: black interior trim adorns the steering wheel, console panels, center cluster, shifter panel and knob, and even the door grips.

Should you want to get your hands on one, it will be available at dealerships in only three colors — black, gray, and white — and only for an extra $1,740 over the base price.

As for the SX Packages, they seem to be milder versions of the Nightshade Special Edition, with various other unique black-out elements, though not quite as numerous or striking, and also more affordable, particularly on the Tacoma.

The Tundra SX Package is certainly the best of the pair thanks to the removal of all exterior badging, upgraded front bucket seats, and color-keyed front grille surrounds, all of which contributes to a very clean and sophisticated aesthetic.
