Dream Car of the DaySince 2004, the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has showcased children’s artwork from around the globe in one place. Since its inception, the contest has included artwork from more than 600,000 children in over 75 countries. This year, for the first time, Toyota is adding a second campaign—Dream Car of the Day—to help demonstrate the work of the 90 finalists from its Dream Art Car Contest. Between May 29th and August 31st, Toyota will feature one finalist’s design per day using a Vine video that will be posted on the Dream Car of the Day website, as well as on social media. Designers at Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon Tokyo will take each design and make it a reality using 2D and 3D imaging. The resulting Vine video will not only give each child the opportunity to see a conceptualization of his or her design, but it will highlight the work of future innovators for the whole world to see.

Masanao Tomozoe, President & Chief Executive Officer, Toyota Motor Sales & Marketing Corporation, said, “I am thrilled by this opportunity to provide a place for kids around the world to express their dreams and to think about the bright future ahead. These amazing works are a great inspiration to Toyota. It is our hope that we continue to share great dreams, connecting kids and customers through this contest.”

The campaign will also highlight each child designer as a “hero” for the day. Visitors to the website can view each Vine video by “liking” it, and can head back daily to see which young artist has been featured that particular day.

Tomozoe continued,“Seeing the creativity in the kids’ artwork inspired us to try different ways of celebrating the dream car drawings, which is how we arrived at the concept of transforming them into Vine videos. We hope that the Dream Car of the Day brings joy to the kids that participated, and to the many people involved, as well as to our customers. Anyone who sees the dream cars that these kids designed are sure to be touched by the optimism and innovative thinking that went into them.” We look forward to seeing each Dream Car of the Day throughout the next 90 days!
