An all-new version of the Hyundai Tucson will likely hit the market in May of 2015, and when it does, Hyundai U.S. chief, David Zuchowski, thinks that Tucson sales could very well double.

Right now, Hyundai manages about 45,000 Tucsons a year in the United States. That number is severely limited because of production capacities, but Reuters reports that, due to new plants in China, India, and Brazil, Korea’s own plant will be freed up for increased production of the Tucson to meet American demand.

“We’re missing business in the Tucson segment,” Zuchowski told reporters. “We think we can easily get to 90,000.”

Hyundai has been on fire lately as it tries to meet its promise of 12 new vehicles over the next three years. Already, the Korean automaker has issued the all-new 2015 Genesis, and the 2015 Sonata will join it this very week. An Elantra small car will join the Tucson in 2015.

Hyundai hopes that, with these massive vehicle rollouts, it will regain some of the market share that it recently lost. The automaker is aiming for 750,000 vehicles this year.
