Turn Trucks Into Movie Theaters With This Kickstarter

Movie nights are a great way to hang out with friends, but if the weather’s great outside, it would be nice to have an easy way to watch the movie outside under the sky. Watching movies outside requires a pretty intense setup, from the media player to the surface to project the movie onto. Everything then needs to be secured so it doesn’t move in a breeze. Watching a movie outside requires a lot of effort that might not always be worth it in the end.

A Truck Perfect For Movies: Learn more about the 2016 Nissan Titan

If you’ve always dreamed of having an easier way to watch movies outdoors, and you happen to drive a vehicle with a hitch, you might be interested in a new project looking for funding on Kickstarter. Hitch Theaters plans on offering several different movie watching configurations using your vehicle. With a screen that is held in place by your hitch, a truck driver could either watch a movie snuggled up in a truck bed (using the available car rooftop projector stand), or watch from behind the truck (using a taller available projection stand). The company also plans on offering a freestanding projection screen, and both screens come with tethers to secure it to the ground in case of wind.

Make Your Showtime: Check out if speeding is actually worth the risk

The idea seems like a cool way to bring the drive-in experience back to life, and make outdoor movies a lot simpler since the screens and stands fold into small bags for easy movement. The only downside is that a vehicle owner still needs to find a projector and a power source that works for them to actually start watching movies. If you really like this project and would want to make it your truck’s latest accessory, hurry to Kickstarter. The project has a long way to go to reach its goal and only about a week to do it.
