How the U.S. Chevy Cruze Will Differ from the Chinese Model
The Chevy Cruze is considered a global vehicle, meaning that Chevrolet is able to use it in markets across the globe, only making minor changes to suit specific markets. As such, we can get a good idea of what’s in store for the U.S. Chevy Cruze in 2016, despite the fact that it has not yet been unveiled. The 2015 Cruze for the Chinese market was unveiled back in April, shortly after the 2015 American variant debuted in New York; according to GM Authority, there are only three big differences between the Chinese and the U.S. Chevy Cruze.
The first difference is the front fascia. Reportedly, the upper portion of the Chinese Cruze’s grille is narrower. The Chevy bowtie sits on this upper portion, while the American Cruze’s bowtie sits in between the lower and upper grille on a thick body-colored piece.
Also different for the U.S. market is hatchback availability. While the Cruze will only be offered as a sedan in China, the American market will welcome a hatchback variant. Never fear, China, the Cruze hatchback will be heading your way following its American debut.
Finally, the 2015 Cruze in China will not be offered with OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi. The 2016 Chevy Cruze model here in the States, however, will feature the next technology.
