2018 Kia Niro

The writers at U.S. News & World Report had a lot of positive things to say about the 2018 Kia Niro. From its versatile cargo space and user-friendly tech to its stylish interior, the Kia Niro captivated their attention. But, it’s the Niro’s fuel efficiency that set it apart from other hybrids on the market and ultimately clinched the title of “Best Hybrid SUV.”

Learn Why: Seasonal tires are important

“It’s also the most fuel-efficient hybrid SUV you can buy, boasting 49 mpg combined. Alternatives like the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid ($27,235), Nissan Rogue Hybrid ($26,240), and Toyota Highlander Hybrid ($36,670) are considerably more expensive than the Niro and return 34 mpg or less,” report Matt Rand and Mel Anton.

The 2018 Kia Niro is available at five trim levels: FE, LX, EX, Touring Graphite Edition, and Touring. It features a 1.6-liter inline full parallel hybrid system and Kia’s dual clutch six speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic®.

Equipped with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ capability, the Niro delivers seamless connectivity to your favorite smartphone apps and contacts. The standard UVO with 7-inch touch-screen display is clear and easy to manipulate; upgrade to the available UVO with 8-inch touch-screen display and you get the benefits of Kia’s Voice-Command Navigation System, Sirius XM® Traffic, and HD Radio™.

A rear-camera display comes standard on the Niro while advanced driver assist technologies such as Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are available features.
