US News Names Two Ram Trucks to Its Most Powerful Trucks List

U.S. News & World Report rounded up the 17 most powerful trucks on the road, and two Ram models — the 2019 Ram 1500 and the 2019 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty — secured spots. With their impressive cargo-hauling, intense horsepower ratings, and outstanding towing capabilities, the Ram models can handle the serious jobs you need handled.

“The recently redesigned Ram 1500 is a great truck, plain and simple,” writes U.S. News & World Report writer Nick Kurczewski. “A luxurious ride and long list of convenience features make the new Ram one of the hardest working and most comfortable full-size trucks out there.”

The 2019 Ram 1500 is available at five trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn®, and Limited. It offers three engine options — 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque, 5.7-liter V8 HEMI®, and 5.7-liter V8 HEMI® with eTorque. The 3.6-liter V6 is rated at 305 horsepower while the 5.7-liter V8 HEMI® churns out a whopping 395 horsepower. When properly equipped, the 2019 Ram 1500 earns a hauling capacity of 2,300 pounds and a towing capability of 12,750 pounds.

The U.S. experts, who praised its towing capability of 16,320 pounds and max towing of 3,990 pounds when properly equipped, the 2018 Ram Heavy Duty 2500 easily secured on spot on the pub’s list.

“Combined with its roomy cabin and comfortable ride, this Ram is a workhorse with a gentle side,” Kurczewski reports.
