Earning a score of 8.5 out of 10, the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee easily secures a spot on U.S. News & World Report’s list of “The Best Road Trip Cars” thanks to its available fuel-sipping 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine. The editors were impressed by its EPA-estimated fuel rating of 30 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg in the city.

“The EcoDiesel’s mileage, combined with the SUV’s 24.6-gallon fuel tank, gives it a range in excess of 700 miles. That’s a sprint from New York City to Detroit with plenty of range to spare,” reports U.S. News & World Report’s Writer John M. Vincent.

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available at 11 trim levels: Laredo, Laredo E, Altitude, Limited, Trailhawk, Sterling Edition, Overland, High Altitude, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk. Each model is available as 4×2 or 4×4, except the Trailhawk, SRT, and Trackhawk, which are available only as 4×4.

Staying connected on your off-roading or on-roading trip is easily possible as the 2018 Grand Cherokee features Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, a media hub with two USB ports and an auxiliary port, a one-year subscription to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, and a Uconnect® 4 infotainment system that boasts a 7-inch touchscreen display as standard features.

Available features, which are ideal if you tend to lose your way, include GPS navigation, a five-year subscription to both SiriusXM® Traffic™ service and SiriusXM® Travel Link Service. Parking is a less stressful feat thanks to ParkSense® Rear Park Assist with stop, another incredible standard feature of the 2018 Grand Cherokee.
