From performance and handling to style, capability, and technology — cars have a ton of characteristics to set them apart from each other, which is vital when it comes to choosing the one that ideally fits your lifestyle. One more category you might want to add to your long list of preferences for a car is how hard it is to repair and maintain.

The editors at U.S. News & World Report have rounded up the 10 cars (all no more than 10 years old) that rank as easiest to maintain and repair after conducting a “decidedly unscientific survey of professional auto mechanics who work on a wide variety of makes and models at independent shops,” reports U.S. News & World Report Writer James MacPherson.

The Jeep Wrangler, models 2007 to 2017, easily made the list.

“Even newer Wranglers are old school and easy to service in many ways. The engine may be modern, but the drivetrain and suspension feature simple and robust solid axles and a traditional longitudinal engine-transmission layout under the hood and beneath the vehicle,” reports MacPherson.

A departed favorite of technicians, according to MacPherson, was the Jeep’s 4.0-liter inline, which made repair and maintenance easy because it provided ample room on both sides of the engine.

The 2017 Jeep Wrangler is available in eight trims — Sport, Sport S, Willys Wheeler, Willys Wheeler W, Sahara, Rubicon, 75th Anniversary Edition, and Rubicon Hard Rock . Each trim is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired to either the standard six-speed manual or available five-speed automatic transmission to create a powertrain capable of generating 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
