Vauxhall picked up a set of four awards at the 2016 Fleet World Honours, including a pair of prizes for the new Astra.

The all-new Vauxhall Astra was named both the Best New Car and Best Lower Medium Car, the Corsa was named the Best Supermini, and the Combo was named Best Small Van. The 2016 Fleet World Honours awards were handed out last month at the Royal Automobile Club in London, with all winners determined by a panel of judges consisting of journalists and various names from the fleet industry.

“The Astra is a fleet staple in the UK, and the corporate sector has never had it better,” said Alex Grant, Fleet World Deputy Editor, of the dual award-winner. “It’s more stylish, more fun to drive, more practical, and more economical than ever. The Astra brings technologies such as IntelliLux LED headlights and OnStar connected services to the compact class, yet it still manages to be ultra-competitive on whole-life costs.”

“We’re delighted the Astra has been recognized for not one but two awards at the Fleet World Honours,” said James Taylor, Vauxhall’s Fleet Sales Director. “The fleet market is an important sector for the all new Astra. It’s great to see how well-received the Astra has been so far, and we are also pleased that the Corsa and Combo have remained firm favorites.”

The Corsa earned the top prize in the supermini category due to its recent refresh, which placed increased emphasis on design and technology. The Combo was praised for the versatility provided by four different body styles, different payload and load volume options, and engine alternatives.

Opel also picked up four prizes earlier this year in the Business Van Awards.
