General Motors will bring the Vauxhall brand to the London Motor Show in 2017, lending prestige to the second running of the once-defunct event.

London Motor Show Chairman Alec Mumford told Wards Auto that Vauxhall will bring its newest products to Battersea Park on May 4th-7th for the 2017 exhibition, joining brands such as Zenos, Tesla, Aston Martin, and Porsche. 2016 marked the return of the show after a 20-year hiatus, a decision that is attributed to the resurgence of the UK auto industry.

Vauxhall will no doubt use the show as a venue to display some of the five new products that it plans to launch in the year ahead. Vauxhall will bolster its lineup in 2017 with the addition of the Insignia Grand Sport, Insignia Sports Tourer, Insignia Country Tourer, new Crossland X crossover, and Grandland X crossover.

“2017 will be a landmark year for Vauxhall,” said Rory Harvey, Chairman and Managing Director, Vauxhall. “Our portfolio will grow, for sure, but it’s the quality and innovation which underpins our new products that will surprise customers. The Insignia Grand Sport will force buyers to reassess how they perceive our brand, and later in the year our two crossover offerings will bring Vauxhall to, in many cases, completely new sets of buyers.”

Mumford told Wards Auto that he anticipates more than 150 different new cars to be on display at the London Motor Show, adding that the Vauxhall models to be displayed at the event will be confirmed in the weeks leading up to kick-off.
