A YouTube video has recently surfaced of a facelifted Fiat 500 sinking to the bottom of the Neris River in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The near drowning of the Fiat reportedly occurred at a Fiat 500 Facelift presentation. The body of a new Fiat 500 had been mounted on top of a jet ski, but experienced an engine failure and rolled over when another boat attempted to tow it to shore, according to the caption that accompanied the video, which was posted by a YouTube channel called 98.It.

After the Fiat 500 went belly up,  it took three men and some ropes to get the tiny vehicle right side up.

Talk about making a splash.

It appears the organizers of this stunt were trying to replicate Fiat’s 2012 commercial titled “Immigrants,” in which fictionalized Fiats powered across the ocean before arriving in the US.

The new 2016 Fiat 500 will be available later this fall in the US. The Italian automotive manufacturer made approximately 1,800 detail changes to the 2016 model, but most of those are so minute they are only visible to the most die heard of Fiat enthusiasts.

A few notable changes are newly designed bumpers, headlight graphics, additional front lighting, and a new UConnect infotainment system.
