the_new_volkswagen_arteon_2Setup has already begun for the 87th Geneva International Motor Show, which will run from March 9th to March 19th. One of the brands that will be there is Volkswagen, and they are planning on wowing audiences with the new VW Arteon (continuing their proud tradition of naming vehicles in such a way that you have to always check that you spelled the slightly-odd name right).

VW has posted a press release on its media site in anticipation of the vehicle’s unveiling, but it is pretty vague. We do know that the vehicle is a fastback “positioned above the Passat” and it has an avant-garde design, while still being ready for the everyday realities of driving. Supposedly this means that the cabin is spacious in terms of headroom and legroom.

On the exterior, the Arteon will have a “completely new” front end and a shoulder section that will make everyone look twice. The front grille will feature LED headlights and Daytime Running Lights that blend into the chrome slats of the grille for a fluid look.

The last detail VW was willing to give about the upcoming Arteon is that it will come to market with the latest and greatest the German automaker has to offer in driver assistance technologies. They take pride in this, saying that the features are usually those found in luxury vehicles. Of course, we have no clue yet as to what those features are.

Accompanying the press release were two teaser images of a corner of the front grille and back hatchback. When we have more details in March, we will let you know more about this mysterious vehicle.
