Volvo has finally fired up production of the new S60 and V60 Polestar models that have been wowing reviewers and car enthusiasts for the last several months.

Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar production is happening at the Torslandaverken factory (“Torslanda Works”) in Sweden, from where Volvo will export the vehicles to customers in Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The Polestar-tuned models are the first-ever complete production cars from Polestar—Volvo’s racing arm—to be built in a Volvo factory. Unfortunately, the exciting, 350-horsepower Volvos will remain rather rare: the Torslanda facility, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and the production of 6.8 million vehicles, will only make 750 models this year. 120 of these will make their way to the United States.

“We are delighted to see the first cars leave the factory and it has been an exciting journey together with Polestar to see these cars from the drawing board until the actual finalized product being produced with us on the factory line,” said Magnus Hellsten, Vice President Car Manufacturing Europe at Volvo Cars.
