In a little under two months, one of the biggest auto shows in the country will be underway. The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) attracts visitors and automakers from all over the country, and Detroit is teeming with car enthusiasts during the show. And while NAIAS doesn’t kick off for a while yet, Volvo is already teasing us with what we can expect from the show.

Volvo just released a teaser image of its flagship S90 sedan, which will be unveiled in Detroit. For months now, the automotive rumor mill has been buzzing with information about this upcoming model, but this is the first official word we’ve had from Volvo. Before this, spy shots of scale models were doing the rounds, giving us a pretty good idea of what the sedan will look like.

While we will get our first glimpse of the S90 in January, the model won’t go on sale until next autumn, as a 2017 model. Shortly afterwards, Volvo is expected to add a V90 station wagon. Both models will ride on the new SPA platform, currently found in the Volvo XC90.

In addition to this teaser image, Volvo has announced a new partnership with tech giant Microsoft to develop new technology for Volvo cars. No specifics have been given, but the Swedish automaker hinted that one area of development might be autonomous cars, which would follow on from Volvo’s hope of having zero fatalities or serious injuries in its cars by 2020.
