The 2015 Invitational will be held in Atlanta on January 24, 2015

The Honda Battle of the Bands will be kicking off at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on January 24, 2015, marking the event’s 14th consecutive year. New for this year is the first-ever Honda Battle of the Bands Power of Dreams Award, which will be presented to an outstanding community member who has helped students achieve their dreams. Each participating team will nominate one such person and Honda will select the winner.

The Honda Battle of the Bands is a celebration of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and the 2015 Invitational Showcase, which will be held on January 24th, will feature performances by eight HBCU bands that were chosen to advance to the invitational by fans like you.

Starting today, you can go online and vote to select those final eight bands that will perform at the invitational, and you can keep voting for them every day until the polls close at midnight on October 15, 2014.

Tickets to the invitational are also on sale now, and can be purchased online through Ticketmaster, over the phone by calling (800)745-3000, or in person at the Georgia Dome ticket office. At the time of writing, the official countdown on their website says there are only 129 days and 13 hours left, so you’d better hurry.

“Honda is deeply committed to supporting the dreams of HBCU students by investing in their education and showcasing exceptional student musicians,” said Stephan Morikawa, the Assistant Vice President of Corporate Community Relations for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “As we continue to prepare our participating band members to March On, both on the field and in life, we look forward to a thrilling and uplifting event in Atlanta.”
