Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV brought the Jeep brand to India on Tuesday, announcing in the process plans to open 10 distribution centers in nine cities by the end of 2016. Jeep originally announced its arrival in India in February of this year.

According to FCA India President and Managing Director Kevin Flynn, who spoke at a press conference introducing the brand to the region, the initial offerings will consist of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.

Prices were announced as being between 7 million Indian Rubees ($100,000) for the Wrangler Unlimited and 11.2 million Indian Rubees ($167,000) for the Grand Cherokee SRT.

“Our intent is to set up our dealer and service network that will have longevity and robustness,” Flynn said. “We recognize that India gives us an enormous opportunity to tap the growing SUV market.”

Flynn noted, however, that the three models being brought to India are merely “just the beginning,” telling those in attendance that plans are in motion to kick off domestic production at its manufacturing plant in Ranjangaon next year. There, the brand will build a premium SUV, which will fit within its idea of “capability through the lens of luxury.” Other future products were not outlined.

The brand’s tagline in India will be: “There’s only one Jeep”.

The Jeep brand set global sales records in 2015 with more than 1.2 million vehicles delivered around the globe. Building vehicles in India would mark only the brand’s fourth manufacturing facility outside of the United States, joining plants in Brazil, China, and Italy.
