The new Silverado 2500HD Carhartt concept vehicle will officially premiere at SEMA

Chevrolet has stumbled upon a pretty brilliant marketing scheme—pair its popular Silverado pickup with a clothing company beloved by rural, blue-collar truck drivers.

Perhaps that strategy was inspired by that custom Silverado that Kid Rock made for last year’s SEMA Show that featured metallic seat inserts patterned after acid-wash jeans.

Either way, it has led Chevy to produce a Silverado Realtree Edition that features camouflage accents, and now a 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Carhartt concept.

In advance of its trip to this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Chevy first revealed the custom truck in Detroit, the hometown of both General Motors and the Carhartt brand. And now, we have video of the big debut.

Check it out:

Among the many features unique to the Silverado 2500 HD Carhartt concept are a tonneau bed cover made out of Carhartt’s rugged fabric, and an interior featuring the clothier’s distinctive gold fabric on the door panel inserts, seats, and armrests. The Carhartt logo itself is also all over the vehicle.

The truck looks pretty good in the video, and seems to get a warm reception during its Detroit debut.

“It really blew me away, and I’m anxious to see everyone else’s reaction to this truck,” Carhartt Marketing VP Tony Ambroza says in the video.

Ambroza (and the rest of us) will get to gauge that reaction when the Silverado concept makes its way to SEMA, November 1st through the 4th.
