What to Expect from Hyundai in 2018
2017 was a big year for Hyundai, as the automaker rolled out an array of redesigns and new models. 2018 looks to be even more revolutionary, as industry experts are anticipating many exciting things up Hyundai’s sleeve. While we don’t know everything that Hyundai will do in 2018, here are some of our predictions.

6 Plans Hyundai Has in Store for 2018

New Crossovers Will Be Revealed
As part of Hyundai’s three-year plan to introduce more crossovers in its lineup, Hyundai plans to reveal multiple brand-new or highly retooled models to its lineup. We’re probably going to see a couple of these revealed in 2018—including a highly anticipated fuel cell vehicle to replace the old, unsuccessful Tucson FCV—even if they won’t arrive at dealerships for another year or two.

Remainder of 2018 Lineup Will Arrive at Dealerships
Most of Hyundai’s 2018 lineup has already been delivered to dealerships lots, but a few models are still on their way, such as the 2018 editions of the Ioniq models and the brand-new Kona compact crossover. We should see the rest of these vehicles available by the end of spring 2018.

Look at Redesigned 2019 Veloster
The Veloster has been an underwhelming seller in Hyundai’s lineup, so the three-door coupe has skipped the 2018 model year to prepare for a 2019 redesign. The 2019 model has already been spied by photographers being tested in camo, so it’ll probably make an official appearance before 2018 ends.

Plenty of Commercials
As the 2018 Winter Olympic Games will be taking place in Seoul , South Korea—Hyundai’s home country—in February, the first months of 2018 will be a big deal for the automaker. A lot of its funds and advertising will be dedicated to brand presence. Similarly, with the Super Bowl coming up and many college football bowls, Hyundai’s NFL and NCAA sponsorships will come into play in the form of numerous commercials on your TV set.

More Talk About FCA Collaborating with Hyundai
Fiat-Chrysler has been looking for a business partner fervently over the past couple years, and the company has turned its attention to Hyundai recently, stirring rumors of buying the Korean brand or at least collaborating with it. Expect these vague insinuations and headlines to continue in 2018, though the only thing that may come of it is a hydrogen engine collaboration.

News on a Hyundai-Made Pickup Truck
It has been multiple years since Hyundai revealed its… unique-looking Santa Cruz concept, a bulky ute that keeps popping up in production rumors. Recently, a Hyundai officer confirmed that the automaker will indeed be making and selling a pickup truck in America, something it has been preparing years for. Hopefully in 2018, we’ll see what the production version of this truck will look like.
