The Eclipse Cross is an all-new model for 2018, with its announcement coinciding with the solar eclipse this past summer. This small SUV is designed to be a middle-ground option sitting between the Outlander Sport and the Outlander. The Eclipse Cross is equipped with a 1.5-liter direct-injected turbocharged engine, while an upgraded 2.2-liter common rail direct-injected turbodiesel engine is available.

For a more family-oriented vehicle, Mitsubishi’s lineup includes the Outlander. The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander’s interior has been spruced up a bit, with last year’s 6.1-inch interior touchscreen display increasing in size to a 7-inch touchscreen. Safety features are also improved for 2018 with the addition of driver-assist features like blind spot monitoring and Lane Change Assist.

While it did receive driver-assist features alongside the Outlander, the Outlander Sport is largely unchanged for the 2018 model year. In fact, it actually lost one of its trim levels—the GT. The 2018 Outlander Sport is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque.
