GM is keeping changes to a minimum for the 2019 Chevy Bolt EV

For the 2019 model year, the Chevrolet Bolt EV is undergoing a few changes, but nothing too dramatic.

Just like last year, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” seems to be GM’s strategy for the 2019 Bolt. It’s a good one, because the little car has been a major success in the electric vehicle market, providing drivers with outstanding efficiency and plenty of advanced technology.

The 2019 Bolt will be equipped with GM’s Tire Fill Alert technology for the first time. This feature makes it easier for drivers to inflate their vehicle’s tires to the recommended pressure.

Also for 2019, the Driver Confidence II package will be available on both the Bolt’s trim levels instead of just the higher Premier trim. This package includes advanced safety features such as IntelliBeam, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Following Distance Indicator.

No more orange metallic burst Chevy Bolt EV

For 2019, the Chevy Bolt EV will no longer be available in Orange Metallic Burst

Color choices for the Bolt will change for 2019 as well. Green Mist Metallic, Shock, and Slate Gray Metallic will be added as options. Meanwhile, Orange Burst Metallic and Arctic Blue Metallic will no longer be available.

A new smartphone interface feature for entering, starting, and operating the Bolt will be added to fleet models later in the year, although it won’t be available when the 2019 model is first launched.

The first-generation Bolt, which was introduced for the 2017 model year, has quickly become one of America’s best-selling electric vehicles. GM sold more than 23,000 Bolts in 2017, and the automaker is planning to ramp up production of the car later this year at its Detroit-area Orion Assembly plant.
