When attending an event as large as the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, it’s important to go in with a plan. One of the most important aspects of your trip to plan out is where to park. This crucial piece of information is often times overlooked until the last minute. By then, event attendees are left dazed and confused, trying to figure out where exactly to park.

However, those who plan ahead will know exactly where to drop their vehicle off and how much it will cost. This helpful guide on where to park for the 2017 Chicago Auto Show will help you head into the automotive event with a stable and reliable plan.

McCormick Place Parking:

As the Chicago Auto Show is set to take place at McCormick Place, it only makes sense that the convention center would offer on-site parking. In fact, McCormick Place has three separate parking lots: Lot A, Lot B, and Lot C. Both Lot A and Lot C charge a parking fee of $23. Lot B, on the other hand, has a more affordable parking fee of $15. This is due to the fact that Lot B is not connected to the McCormick Place center, while Lot A and Lot C are. Lot A is located next to the West building, while the underground parking offered by Lot C is located next to the Lakeside Center.

If drivers arrive for the Chicago Auto Show after 6pm, then they will only have to pay a parking fee of $10. Of course, the McCormick parking lots are only open throughout event hours, and overnight parking is prohibited. Additionally, auto show attendees should note that there are no in-and-out privileges. Parking fees can be paid with cash or credit cards, including VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.

As for handicap parking at McCormick Place, handicap-accessible parking spaces are available in Lot A, Lot C, and the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place parking garage. If you need to drop off a guest for the event, the Chicago Auto Show recommends Gate 4 of the South Building near Martin Luther King Drive.

For more information about parking at McCormick Place, visit its parking webpage here.

Millennium Park Garage Parking:

On Saturdays and Sundays during the Chicago Auto Show, a free shuttle bus service will run between the Millennium Park Garage and the McCormick Place convention center. This free shuttle service is also set to operate on Presidents Day, February 20. These shuttles will operate in 10-15 minute intervals and will pick up attendees at the Lower Randolph pedestrian exits.

Parking at the Millennium Park Garage costs $15 for every 12 hours. Drivers are restricted from any in-and-out privileges. However, they can park overnight for a posted rate. The parking garage is open throughout the event hours. Parking fees here can also be paid with cash or credit cards, including VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.

Soldier Field Parking:

Near the McCormick Place convention center are several of the Soldier Field parking lots. Located between Chicago’s Museum Campus and the McCormick Place center is the Soldier Field South parking lot. The South lot is just a short walk away from the Chicago Auto Show itself.

Parking in the Soldier Field South lot costs $22. There is no overnight parking permitted for the South lot.

Other Soldier Field parking lots a bit farther away from McCormick Place include the North Garage, the Alder lot, and the East Museum lot.

Parking in the North Garage costs $19 for the first four hours and $22 for up to 12 hours. After 5pm, parking in the North Garage costs $22 for 12 hours or less. Overnight parking is also available in the North Garage for the price of $22 for 12 hours or less. Anything more than 12 hours will cost $41.

Parking in the Alder lot costs $11 before 9:30am and $19 between 9:30am and 4pm After 4pm, parking fees for the Alder lot costs $13. Overnight parking in the Alder lot is $22.

Finally, the East Museum lot has a parking fee of $22 for up to 12 hours. Overnight parking is available for the East Museum lot for a rate of $22.

With a solid parking plan set in place, your trip to the 2017 Chicago Auto Show should run a lot smoother.
