Country music has always been linked to automotive, especially with the abundant references to pickup trucks. Nearly every country artist — from Taylor Swift to Luke Bryan — has had some sort of reference to cars and trucks.

We took a closer look at the current Billboard Top 50 charts, and pulled together a list of the car brands mentioned.

Darius Rucker channels a fun, upbeat vibe with “For the First Time,” currently #12 on the Billboard country charts. The song gives a brief shout out to Chevrolet, mentioning the brand in passing during the first verse. “You say you never danced to a dashboard singin’ R.E.M. under summer stars; Never leaned back on a jet black Chevy, blowing smoke rings in the dark.”

This hit song by The Voice coach Blake Shelton currently sits just behind Darius Rucker at #13 on the Billboard charts. “I Lived It” describes his life growing up in the country, including his dad’s flatbed Ford, and how living out in the country made him into the person he is today.

Currently sitting at #17 on the Billboard country charts is Jake Owen. Jake references an old-time all-American car, the Chevy Cheyenne in his hit song “I Was Jack (You Were Diane).” The Chevy Cheyenne was a trim model for the Chevrolet C/K.

Maren Morris dives into the expression, “If I had a dollar for every time,” when reminiscing on her past relationship. Of course, Mercedes is known for its high-priced models, making it the perfect fit for her song’s message. The song currently holds the #34 spot on the country charts.
