We're terrified—and a bit excited—by this malevolent Veloster Turbo

BLOOD TYPE RACING RETURNS TO SEMA, BRINGING ALONG A SINISTER VELOSTER TURBO

Hyundai has been busy building its roster for the 2015 SEMA Show, the famed convention bringing automobile tuners from across the globe to Las Vegas. Already it’s announced a special Tucson from Bisimoto Engineering and a Genesis Coupe from ARK Performance. Blood Type Racing, Inc wanted in on that action and has something sinister up its sleeve.

Last year, BTR offered a devilish red 1,000-horsepower Genesis Coupe for spectators to the 2014 SEMA Show to witness. This year, BTR set its sights on another sporty Hyundai model: the Veloster Turbo.

The Chicago-based tuning garage has announced a modified Hyundai Veloster Turbo R-Spec with an obviously evil appearance–and a 500-horsepower, 1.6-liter “Gamma” four-cylinder engine with a mean bite.

Modifications to the Veloster Turbo at SEMA 2015

“The focus of this build was to boost the performance capabilities of the Veloster R-Spec while creating one of the angriest-looking Hyundai vehicles to chew up the pavement,” stated Sam Lee, Director of Marketing of BTR. “This Veloster is guaranteed to turn heads on the SEMA show floor.”

This sinister Hyundai Veloster Turbo has received too many modifications to completely list, but here are the highlights. The powertrain received Pavel’s Racing Engines (PRE) custom forged pistons, Garrett GTX3582R Dual Ball Bearing Turbo, a Devils Own methanol/water injection system, a KMC Fabrication custom intake manifold/Cat-less 3.0-inch exhaust, and a PRE Custom package including sleeves, bearings, and valve springs.

Chassis modifications include BC Racing Coilovers, SSR Professor TF1 19×9.5-inch wheels, Toyo Proxes R888 tires, and Pierce Motorsports struts/torsion bar/braces. Exterior modifications range from a SoCal Garage Works Carbon Fiber fender kit to a Seibon Carbon hood, plus a Sequence Garage Devil’s spoiler and Rally Armor Red mud flaps. Don’t even get us started on the Rockford Fosgate sound system or Sabelt seats inside.

Those are just a fraction of the impressive amount, range, and quality of upgrades received by the black-and-red Veloster appearing at SEMA 2015.
