“We believe that excellence in our supplier diversity program and processes can result in greatness within supply chain management and lead to growth for all,” said Heath Holtz, senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing. “Nissan values inclusion in all areas of the business and strives to mirror the diversity of our consumer base and the communities where we do business.”

According to Nissan and 2017 sales data from I.H.S. Polk more than 44% of its customers identify as multicultural, and this diverse customer base makes the brand motivated to reach out to all possible communities and support them. On the production end of things, Nissan committed itself to a Supplier Diversity Initiative to make its world-class supplier network as diverse as its customers.

The WBENC also chose corporations with written policies about diversity in its supply chain for this year’s honors. We won’t be surprised to see Nissan on this list in the future, thanks to its commitment to diversity in all parts of its business.
