Iran vs. Nigeria

Today, Iran and Nigeria go head-to-head on the field, but the real question is, who comes out on top when we pit the cars of Iran and Nigeria against one another. For the World Cup of Cars: Iran vs. Nigeria match, we’re taking one of the most popular models from each country and letting them battle it out. Only one can come out victorious.

Representing Iran is the Hyundai ix35, or, as we know it here in the U.S., the Hyundai Tucson, which just recently launched in California in a hydrogen-powered variant. That will surely give Iran a leg-up on the Nigeria. Other bragging rights for the ix35 include its long warranty and low starting price.

Plus, it’s got this awesome (and terribly strange) commercial:

The Kia Cerato (which is better known here as the Spectra) debuted in 2003, but the compact car was soon replaced by the Forte, although the Cerato name continued in some parts of the world. The Cerato is one of Nigeria’s most popular models, although it’s not very clear why. It has a ventilated driver’s seat, which is pretty cool, but beyond that, the features are mostly just humdrum. Sure, electronic stability control is great, but is it going to win you the World Cup? No chance.

So it’s very clear who the winner in the Iran vs. Nigeria match is: Iran and its ix35. Sorry, Nigeria. Better luck next time.
