Wuling Hong Guang S3, Baojun 310 Wagon Revealed at Auto Shanghai 2017

At Auto Shanghai 2017, Wuling and Baojun, General Motors’ brands exclusive to the country, each revealed a new model aimed at expanding its respective reach with retail customers.

Wuling, primarily a commercial vehicle venture and looking to gain footholds among individual new vehicle buyers, launched the Hong Guang S3. The Wuling Hong Guang S3 is the brand’s first SUV and builds upon the platform utilized by the popular Hong Guang MPV.

The seven-seater boasts a 2,800-millimeter wheelbase, 4,654-millimeter length, 1,73-millimeter width, and 1,777-millimeter height, all of which adds up to a clean and stylish profile and ample interior space. The Wuling Hong Guang S3 will be offered with a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter engine and a 1.5-liter turbo engine.

Baojun also launched a unique vehicle for its lineup with the Baojun 310 Wagon, filling the brand’s need for an entry-level passenger car while enhancing appeal with the added space and utility provided by a wagon body style.

The Baojun 310 Wagon seats five and provides up to 740 liters of rear cargo space that doubles when the second-row seats are folded flat. The Baojun 310 Wagon boasts a length of 4,620 millimeters, 1,710 millimeters in width, and 1,535 millimeters in height.

The Baojun 310 Wagon is aimed at appealing to younger buyers with its sporty proportions, optional roof rack, and a “dark plus beige” interior that includes an eight-inch LCD screen in the center console and optional six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The Baojun 310 Wagon will be powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine.
