This year, a very special individual will be pacing the Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway. He is a man who embodies the principles of Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect. He urges his fans and followers to Never Give Up, and he practices what he preaches by pushing past injuries and continuing to train. He is a 15-time world heavyweight champion, the star of the upcoming reality television program American Grit, and the most prolific wish ambassador in Make-A-Wish History. Oh, and despite what you may have heard, he is like totally and definitely not dead.

The WWE Superstar, actor, and philanthropist will be the man pacing the 43-car field at the legendary race on February 21st. He will not pace the field in one of the many muscle cars in his collection, but in a Toyota Camry. So, hey, there you go.

“John Cena is one of the most iconic WWE Superstars in history, a great actor and philanthropist,” Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III said. “We welcome him back to the ‘World Center of Racing’ and our new motorsports stadium, this time to pace the field for ‘The Great American Race.'”

By virtue of Cena’s presence at the Wrestlemania of auto racing, you can pretty well confirm that he won’t make a surprise appearance at the appropriately-named WWE Fastlane, which takes place in Cleveland that same night. Which is a shame, because maybe if he drove the Camry up to The Q, we could watch Brock Lesnar wreck it with a couple of axes.
