1993 Toyota Supra from The Fast and The Furious

Today, Furious 7 is the fastest film to reach $1 billion international gross and is already one of the top 10 highest-grossing films of all-time. In a year where sequels to mega-franchises like Star Wars, The Avengers, Jurassic Park, Terminator, and 007 are all on the slate, Furious 7 is the stage-setter for their success henceforth. Apart from being an absolute juggernaut at the box office, it’s also a pretty damned good action flick.

It’s hard to imagine that anybody could have predicted this level of success when the franchise’s first film, The Fast & The Furious, debuted in 2001. It was a far cry from the beast we are all familiar with today, keeping the plot very basic and the set pieces small in order to spend more time focusing on the cars of the street racing subculture.

For as much as the film was key in making stars out of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and the late Paul Walker, one of the biggest stars of the original film was a bright orange 1993 Toyota Supra driven by Walker’s character Brian O’Connor.

Now, if you have between an estimated $150,000-$200,000, you can own the same Supra that features so prominently in the film’s climax by placing your bid during the May 12-17 Mecum Car Auction in Indianapolis.

The Supra, built by Eddie Paul at The Shark Shop in El Sugundo, is by no means a world-beater performance-wise; it’s got a 2JZ-GE 3.0-liter inline-six paired to a five-speed manual and good for 220 horsepower. Granted, this Supra is no slouch, but it ain’t a 10-second car either.

The Supra also comes with twin Holley Performance NOS bottles, though they are not attached, as well as a Bomex body kit, APR wing, Dazz alloy wheels, and Yokohama tires.

If you’re a diehard fan of the Fast and Furious franchise, you’ll want to toss a bid at this Supra. It’ll probably only cost you about as much money as what Furious 7 made in the past hour.
