British YouTuber Joe Sugg has more than 8 million subscribers on his main channel, ThatcherJoe. A friend of his reached out to him recently; he was bringing his Ferrari 488 Spider to town and offered to let Joe borrow it for the day. This gave Joe the perfect opportunity to surprise his grandfather, a car junkie, with a cruise around town.

According to the video, this yellow Ferrari 488 Spider is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 engine and can go from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 3 seconds. According to Ferrari, the 2018 model boasts a whopping 660 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque.

First, Joe let his friend, Craig, take them for a test spin. Once Joe got behind the wheel, he said it’s not as scary as you might think (although, driving behind the wheel of any car with a six-figure price tag can be a bit intimidating).

When Joe pulled up to pick up his granddad he almost honked, but hesitated. Instead, Joe revved the engine, letting the entire neighborhood know he was there, and he was there in style.

His granddad’s face lit up when he saw the Ferrari, making the experience completely worth it. Joe said his granddad had never seen a car like that, let alone set foot inside of one. They got Joe’s granddad into the car and the two cruised around town, spending some quality time in the luxury sports car. For the most part, Joe stayed at casual speeds (his mother agreed he’s a good driver, but wasn’t too sure about his sister Zoe Sugg, or Zoella on YouTube); however, once the duo hit a longer strip of road, Joe accelerated to show his granddad the kind of power the 488 Spider had under its hood.

It was refreshing and heartwarming to see Joe surprise his granddad in such a personal way, knowing his granddad’s love for cars. Joe crafted this video in partnership with a charity organization called Age UK, which helps aging individuals make the most of their later life.
