What’s New for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse
There are only a few minor changes in the availability of features for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse.
2013 Buick LaCrosse Exterior
The Buick LaCrosse takes style up a notch for the 2013 model year with crisp body lines highlighting the large sedan’s slimmer body and a clean, yet elegant grille design that makes a statement of understated luxury. A lower stance allows the LaCrosse to get the best fuel economy possibly, while a few sporty accents hint at the power behind its optional V6 engine.
2013 Buick LaCrosse Performance
To power the 2013 LaCrosse, there are two different engine choices. The first is a mild hybrid powertrain, called eAssist, that pairs a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with an 11-kilowatt electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. Combined, the system produces 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain comes standard on base and Leather trim levels, along with a front-wheel-drive system and a six-speed automatic transmission.
For the second engine option, those looking for a bit more power can opt for the 3.6-liter V6 engine that churns out a powerful 303 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque. The only transmission offered in this powertrain is a six-speed automatic, though consumers can choose either a front- or all-wheel-drive system.
2013 Buick LaCrosse Efficiency
For the eAssist 2.4-liter engine, EPA-estimated fuel economy comes in at an impressive 29 mpg combined. The more powerful V6 gets less fuel economy with 21 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive models and 20 mpg combined for those with all-wheel-drive.
2013 Buick LaCrosse Interior
Upscale materials combine with a graceful design to create a classy cabin that you won’t want to leave. When the night comes, a soft blue ambient light emphasizes the cabin’s smooth curves, bathing the interior in luxury. While the controls might be a bit complicated to get used to, the LaCrosse’s interior comfort outweighs this slight negative with supportive seats and an abundance of room, both in the front and back seats.
2013 Buick LaCrosse Safety
According to government crash tests, the Buick LaCrosse is worthy of a five-star overall crashworthiness rating. With standard features, such as antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and multiple airbags, along with a standard OnStar emergency telematics system, it’s understandable how the LaCrosse managed to get such a high rating.
