What’s New for the 2013 Scion iQ

There are a few minor changes for the 2013 Scion iQ, including the addition of rear speakers.

2013 Scion iQ Exterior

The 2013 Scion iQ takes compact to a whole new level—as one of the smallest vehicles offered in today’s market, the iQ is a peanut of car. Though the entirety of the outside looks as if it’s been swallowed by the car’s door, the iQ’s angular, yet still adorable front fascia and hatchback rear makes for a spunky looking urban car that will making parking in the city a breeze.

2013 Scion iQ Performance

Each Scion iQ comes with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 94 horsepower and 89 lb-ft of torque, small numbers that have a big impact on such a large car. Front-wheel-drive is standard along with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

2013 Scion iQ Efficiency

Fuel economy for the 2013 iQ is rated at an EPA-estimated 37 mpg combined.

2013 Scion iQ Interior

For such a small car, the Scion iQ utilizes its interior space to the best of its ability. Only two passengers can truly fit in the car comfortably, but the passenger side seat especially has plenty of legroom. The cargo space is shockingly large, thanks to the 50/50-split rear seat that fold to enlarge the trunk from 3.5 cubic feet to 16.7. Like other Scions, the iQ has an outstanding Pioneer audio system with an optional touchscreen interface. The audio system has high quality, with simple to use controls.

2013 Scion iQ Safety

The iQ received four out of five stars for overall crash protection in government crash testing, with safety features such as stability and traction control, antilock brakes, and multiple airbags, including a front seat-cushion airbag and rear-window airbag that aren’t normally seen in cars.
