Not only did Buick deliver 228,963 sales in the United States in 2014, but it also managed to set a global sales record for the second year in a row. All told, 1,170,115 Buick vehicles sold around in the world in 2014, a 13.4% improvement from the 1,032,056 vehicles sold in 2013.
It should come as little surprise that Buick’s biggest market was China, where the brand racked up an impressive 919,582 deliveries in 2014. China-exclusive models like the Excelle sedan and GL8 minivan were tremendous movers for Buick; deliveries of the Excelle totaled 293,908 units, and the GL8 gained 14.6% over its sales from 2013.
Also big for Buick in China was the Envision crossover, which pulled down 19,747 sales in just two months on the market while also nabbing the honor of being named Motor Trend China’s SUV of 2015. The Envision is scheduled to go on sale in the United States some time later in 2015.
Sales were also up in the United States, with the way being led by the Enclave, LaCrosse, and Encore. Buick delivered 62,300 Enclaves, 51,468 LaCrosses, and 48,892 Encores over a 12-month span.
Buick’s 2014 sales were also strong in Canada and Mexico. Deliveries in Canada for 2014 totaled 18,745 units, up 30.9% from 2013; deliveries in Mexico totaled 2,825 units, up 21.8% from 2013.
