The 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage won the Best All-Around Performance and Best Environmental Performance Awards in the Mini-Compact Car segment. The Mirage earned the later for “performing exceptionally well against the competition in areas of environmental, social and economic performance” while taking top Environmental Performance honors for “holding the smallest environmental footprint, not only in its class, but also of any conventionally powered model year 2014 automobile available in the North American market.”

The Outlander and Outlander Sport both received Best 5 All-Around Performance acclaim in the Mid-Size SUV and Crossover SUV segments respectively.

In a press release, Don Swearingen, Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., said, “It is very satisfying to see three of our most popular vehicles—the 2014 Mirage, Outlander and Outlander Sport—win meaningful awards such as the ones presented by the Automotive Science Group, but it is especially gratifying to know that Mitsubishi Motors customers own and drive vehicles that are among the very best in the industry in such important areas as environmental sustainability, affordability/cost of ownership and in social responsibility.”

ASG determines the winners of their Best All-Around Performance Awards based upon their social, environmental, and economic performance. Factors include adherence to labor and human rights laws, overall environmental impact, and affordability based upon total cost and forecasted fuel costs.
