It is not uncommon for a vehicle to be released overseas to much success and acclaim, but never so much as make it over to the U.S.   This often times causes true car enthusiasts to get irritated and sometimes even start campaigns for that vehicle to be offered in the States.  The 2014 Nissan Qashqai is not one of those vehicles.  It isn’t because the Qashqai isn’t styling or cool enough for America, it’s because we already have one.  It’s called the 2014 Nissan Rogue.

Despite their virtually identical exterior designs there are some differences between the 2014 Nissan Qashqai and the 2014 Nissan Rogue.  For one, the Qashqai has four available engine options, as opposed to the one in the Rogue.

European drivers love their engine options and they have plenty with the Qashqai.  Drivers can choose between a 1.2-liter, 115 horsepower and a 1.6-liter, 150 horsepower gas-powered engines, but it wouldn’t be Europe without a couple diesel variants.  The 2014 Qashqai also offers 1.5-liter, 110 horsepower and 1.6-liter 130 horsepower diesel-powered options.

Are diesel options pretty cool?  Absolutely!  Does that make the 2014 Nissan Qashqai “the most significant car in its modern history?”  Eh…

Would you like to see a diesel-powered 2014 Nissan Rogue available in the U.S.?
