2015 Audi A3 Earns TOP SAFETY PICK+ Rating

The all-new 2015 Audi A3 has earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest honor, having earned the right to call itself a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating-earner. In order to receive the superlative score, the 2015 A3 earned “GOOD” ratings in all crashworthiness tests (Moderate Overlap Front Test, Side Test, Roof Strength Test, Head Restraints Test, and Small Overlap Front Test) and an “ADVANCED” rating for front crash prevention thanks to the available Audi pre sense® system.

“The TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating for the A3 sedan demonstrates the full Audi commitment to safety,” said Mark Del Rosso, Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America, in a press release. “With a host of standard luxury features, industry-first technology and uncompromised design, the Audi A3 raises the bar as to what is expected out of entry-level luxury vehicles.”

The 2015 Audi A3 will go on sale this month with an MSRP of $29,900. Cabriolet, TDI clean diesel, and the performance-minded S3 variants are all expected to be released in the fall, and the A3 Sportback e-tron® and PHEV variants will launch sometime in early 2015.

Audi pre sense®, which helped the 2015 Audi A3 earn the TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, allows the vehicle to determine when an emergency maneuver is being made and helps to prepare both vehicle and occupants for a possible collision. All 2015 A3s come standard with the basic pre sense® system, and models fitted with an advanced tech package get the pre sense® front as well as active lane assist and adaptive cruise control.
